Virus Hoaxes and Urban Legends

Friends tell friends that an email had a virus. Friends tell friends about people in need. Friends also pass along false alarms. How do you know when a virus warning is real, or if there really is a dying boy who wants postcards?

A recent email message asked people to delete a specific file with a supposed virus. But, there was no virus--and the file was an important one that should not be deleted.

Don't fall for hoaxes. Don't perpetuate urban legends. Be sure. Check them out at these sites:
