Two public agencies in St. Louis sponsor an award-winning television series that puts success stories of K-12 schools in the spotlight.

Reporters take their cameras into the classroom and beyond. They reveal exciting initiatives by teachers and students, showing that innovation, dedication and pursuit of excellence form the basis for daily success at public, private and parochial schools.

Behind the Minds is produced by the Higher Education Channel and Cooperating School Districts (CSD). The news magazine has Jerry Bryan and Gina Kurre as studio co-hosts, with TV journalists doing feature stories.

Bryan provides strategic planning and public policy counsel to school officials nationally, and serves regionally as Chairman of the Council for Educational Advancement.

Funding for Behind the Minds is provided by the St. Louis County Cable Television Public Educational Commission. The series has aired continuously since May 2003.

It's seen on HEC-TV, the Higher Education Channel, at 7:00 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays on cable channel 26 in St. Louis County and 13 in St. Louis City.
